  1. Check if your country belongs to EEA countries or not.
  2. Check if your country is a visa waiver country or is under visa obligations.
  3. Apply for the resident permit (before or after you arrive to Hungary) or registration card.
  4. Find an accommodation, because you will need a certificate of accommodation for the resident permit.
  5. Ask for a valid Study and exam regulation of your university, and read it carefully, take notes.
  6. Don't forget to go within 30 days to the  National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing, if you are a student from a non-EEA country. If you are from an EEA country within 90 days, if you plan to stay longer than 90 days.
  7. If there is a change in your data (you change your accommodation or you've lost your passport etc.), and the data was registered before at the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing, you have to inform the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing within 3 days about the change.
