- Check if your country belongs to EEA countries or not.
- Check if your country is a visa waiver country or is under visa obligations.
- Apply for the resident permit (before or after you arrive to Hungary) or registration card.
- Find an accommodation, because you will need a certificate of accommodation for the resident permit.
- Ask for a valid Study and exam regulation of your university, and read it carefully, take notes.
- Don't forget to go within 30 days to the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing, if you are a student from a non-EEA country. If you are from an EEA country within 90 days, if you plan to stay longer than 90 days.
- If there is a change in your data (you change your accommodation or you've lost your passport etc.), and the data was registered before at the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing, you have to inform the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing within 3 days about the change.
